(Alliance News) - Serabi Gold PLC on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Colm Howlin as chief financial officer, following the retirement of Clive Line, who stepped down from his role as finance director on December 31, after over a decade with the company.
Serabi first announced this executive change in August last year.
Howlin, who has been with the Brazil-focused gold mining and development company since 2013 as group controller, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland and fluent in Portuguese. Chief Executive Officer Michael Hodgson noted Howlin's experience, saying he "is well qualified to take over as the company's CFO and to maintain the necessary level of financial discipline over our operations".
Serabi also announced the appointment of Marcus Brewster to the newly created role of chief operating officer. The company said that Brewster, who previously served as COO of TriStar Gold Inc, brings experience in mining operations and project development, particularly in Brazil's Para state.
Shares in Serabi were up 4.5% at 112.90 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
