REUTERS NEXT-European health regulator chief says EU needs more say in securing access to new drugs
BARCELONA, April 22 (Reuters) - The head of the European Medicines Agency Emer Cooke said on Wednesday that the European Union should be given the remit to get more involved in securing access to newly approved drugs, an area where member states are currently in charge.
"We need more Europe," said EMA Executive Director Cooke, speaking at the Reuters Pharma Europe 2026 event in Barcelona.
