REACT Energy Says Planning Permission For Clay Cross Recommended

Thu, 07th Apr 2016 13:20

LONDON (Alliance News) - Infrastructure developer and operator REACT Energy PLC on Thursday said the strategic director of Economy, Transport and Communities to the Regulatory Planning Committee of Derbyshire Country Council has recommended planning permission is granted for its subsidiary to build an energy recovery facility.

REACT said in January 2015 it had submitted a planning application for its subsidiary Clay Cross Biomass Ltd to build the facility in Clay Cross, Derby. A decision as to whether planning permission will be granted is expected on April 11.

On Thursday, REACT said the strategic director has published a report into the construction and operation of the facility which will "enable the committee to determine the planning application at its next meeting on April 11".

REACT said the report recommended that planning permission be granted, subject to certain conditions, including the raising of the necessary finance to fund the development. However, REACT said there was no guarantee the committee will adopt the recommendation.

Shares in REACT were up 58% at 7.50 pence on Thursday.
