Tue, 18th Jul 2023 08:19

LONDON, July 18 (Reuters) - The chief executive of British online and technology group Ocado said he had nothing to say when asked about speculation of a takeover by U.S. group Amazon.

"Speculation is speculation, I have nothing to say," Tim Steiner said, in response to a question about a Times newspaper report about possible takeover interest from more than one U.S. suitor including Amazon. Amazon has declined to comment.

Steiner was speaking after the group published first-half results on Tuesday. (Reporting by James Davey; editing by Kate Holton)
