Kazakhstan's Karachaganak oilfield to halt operations for maintenance

MOSCOW, July 28 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan plans to stop oil and gas condensate production at Karachaganak oilfield for maintenance from Sept. 12 to Oct. 6, the energy ministry said this week.

Oil and gas condensate at Karachaganak rose to 6.096 million tonnes in the first six months of the year from 5.989 million tonnes in the same period last year.

Field operator Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) did not respond to a request for comment.

Oil from Karachaganak is mainly supplied via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium from the Black Sea terminal.

KPO stakeholders are Eni (29.25%), Shell (29.25%), Chevron (18%), Lukoil (13.5%) and Kazmunaygaz (10%). (Reporting by Reuters Editing by David Goodman )
