JPMorgan Emerging Markets Says Asset Value Up, Gearing Declines

LONDON (Alliance News) - JPMorgan Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC Wednesday said the total value of its assets rose to GBP798.5 million at October 29, from GBP757.4 million at the end of September, while gearing declined to 3.2% from 3.7%

In an interim management statement, the company said its net asset value increased to 659.5 pence at October 29, from 630.7 pence at the end of September.

The firm said the financial sector makes up the largest proportion of its investment portfolio, followed by consumer staples and information technology.

Geographically, Brazil made up JPMorgan Emerging Markets biggest investment portfolio followed by India and South Africa.

The stock closed at 67.50 pence Wednesday afternoon, up 4.00 pence or 6.3%.
