John Wood Wins Consultancy Contract For Shell's Prelude Project

Tue, 19th Jan 2016 10:16

LONDON (Alliance News) - John Wood Group PLC on Tuesday said it has won a three-year contract to work on Royal Dutch Shell PLC's Prelude floating liquefied natural gas project.

John Wood's Wood Group Kenny arm will provide consultancy services to the project, which is located in Western Australia. No financial details were disclosed.

The contract will be effective immediately and will focus on the development and implementation of the flexible riser integrity management plan for the project.

"The flexible risers are a safety critical component of the subsea system. We look forward to working with Shell and applying our specialist expertise to the project, which has specific challenges given the cyclonic conditions, making integrity even more pertinent," said Wood Group Kenny Chief Executive Bob MacDonald.

John Wood shares were up 0.7% on Tuesday to 580.00 pence.
