Irish Continental Buys Four Container Vessels For EUR24.2 Million

LONDON (Alliance News) - Irish Continental Group PLC on Tuesday said it has signed deals to buy four lift-on lift-off container vessels for a total of EUR24.2 million.

The Irish ferry operator has acquired the MV Elbfeeder, MV Elbtrader and MV Elbcarrier vessels, offering a gross tonnage 8,246 tonnes, plus the MV Jork Ranger, which has a gross tonnage of 7,852 tonnes.

Irish Continental will pay the consideration in cash from existing resources.

Shares in Irish Continental were untraded on Tuesday, having last traded at EUR4.40.
