Intertek buys Danish certification company

(ShareCast News) - Product testing group Intertek has acquired Dansk Institut for Certificering A/S (DIC) for an undisclosed sum.Intertek said the acquisition of DIC, which is a certification company, will allow it to expand its capabilities and footprint in business assurance in the Nordic region.Chief executive officer Andre Lacroix said: "The acquisition of DIC allows Intertek to strengthen our business assurance services in the Nordic region where our customers are seeking a higher level of quality, including health, safety and environmental quality assurance of their operations. DIC is an excellent business with a strong track record of service delivery. We are delighted to welcome the DIC team to Intertek."DIC is headquartered in Sjolund, southern Denmark. It has 15 employees and generated around DKK16m (£1.58m) of revenue in 2014. It helps local and international companies in the region to improve and maintain the quality of their operations and supply chain, and meet increasing consumer and regulatory pressure to run their businesses in a safer, healthier, more ethical and environmentally friendly manner.
