Interserve has won a 322m-pound contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to manage its National Training Estate.The contract has a five-year term and runs until 2019, but has an option to extend it for up to a further five years.Interserve, whose subsidiary Landmarc was awarded the work, said this is one of the first of the Next Generation Estate Contracts (NGEC) to be awarded by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the MoD's property and services provider.Landmarc, which has supported the DIO since 2003, will continue to manage military training facilities across the MoD's 190,000-hectare UK training estate. The new contract also incorporates over 30 extra sites.Services include bookings, accommodation, catering, cleaning, vehicle maintenance, logistics and general facilities management.Adrian Ringrose, Interserve's Chief Executive, said: "The retention of our role in military training reinforces Interserve's ability to develop partnerships that integrate a wide range of capabilities and expertise that deliver value to our customers."For the past decade, Landmarc has worked in partnership with DIO to support the vital training that is needed to prepare Britain's Armed Forces for operational success, as well as supporting the rural communities that live and work around the estate.
