World Chess PLC - London-based chess promoter and tournament organiser - Appoints Jamison Firestone, currently senior independent director, as interim chair with immediate effect. Firestone will hold the position while the board conducts a formal search for a permanent chair. Firestone is an internationally recognised attorney and a member of the New York Bar, based in London. He was managing partner of Firestone Duncan a combined legal and audit practice for sixteen years and is the founder of FD Advisory, an international law practice, advising clients on sanctions and cross-border matters. Firestone says: "It is a privilege to step into this role and help the board to identify the right permanent chair to lead the company through its next phase of growth." Firestone replaces previous Chair Neil Rafferty who announced his resignation back in February, effective May 11.
