IN BRIEF: OptiBiotix Grants License for Cardiovascular Health Product

Wed, 18th Nov 2020 14:53

OptiBiotix Health PLC - a York-based life sciences company - Announces that its subsidiary ProBiotix Health Ltd has granted a non-exclusive LPLDL license to Canadian natural health company Genuine Health Inc for a cardiovascular health product in Canada and the US. LPLDL is OptiBiotix's strain of probiotic bacteria lactobacillus plantarum that helps to lower cholesterol and blood pressure.

The agreement is for an initial period of 36 months and means that Genuine Health submits products containing LPLDL for cardiovascular and other health claims to Health Canada, a department of the Canadian government. A successful registration sees LPLDL as the first probiotic supplement in the Canadian market to gain a specific health claim for cardiovascular health.
