IG Group chair Mike McTighe to step down

Mon, 15th Sep 2025 07:14

(Sharecast News) - Trading platform operator IG Group announced on Monday that its chair Mike McTighe will step down after nearly six years in the role.

McTighe, who has been at the helm of the board since February 2020, will leave at the end of the year, and a process is now underway to find his successor.

"It has been a great honour and privilege to lead the board over the past five years. I am grateful for the trust and support I have received from colleagues," said McTighe in a statement.

"With solid foundations laid for stronger growth, I am confident that under Breon Corcoran's leadership, IG will go from strength to strength."

McTighe, one of nine non-executive members of IG Group's board, has held a number of non-exec roles over the past two decades, including eight years on the board of Ofcom and one at Postcomm. He is also currently the chair of Telegraph Media Group and the Men's Professional Rugby Board.

He spent most of his executive career at Cable and Wireless, Philips, Motorola and GE.
