AbbVie Inc - US biopharmaceutical company - Partners with Frontier Medicines Corp to develop and commercialise "small molecule therapeutics" for hard to drug protein targets. "Under the multi-year collaboration, AbbVie and Frontier will utilize Frontier's proprietary chemoproteomics platform to identify small molecules for programs directed to novel E3 ligases and certain oncology and immunology targets," AbbVie says. AbbVie to pay Frontier USD55 million upfront and possible further milestone payments which could exceed USD1 billion.

Lonza Group Ltd - Swiss chemicals & biotechnology company - Pens "long-term collaboration with a global biopharma company". Says pact will generate 200 jobs at Lonza's Visp, Switzerland site. "Operations expected to start from end 2022," Lonza says.

Bayer AG - Leverkusen, Germany-based pharmaceutical and life sciences company - Launches cell and gene therapy platform. "Strategically, Bayer focuses on selected areas of C>, such as stem cell therapies, gene augmentation, gene editing and allogeneic cell therapies in different indications," Bayer says.

Johnson & Johnson - pharmaceutical firm - Janssen Pharmaceuticals unit acquires rights to investigational gene therapy HMR59 used to treat age-related macular degeneration, developed by Hemera Biosciences LLC. " Financial terms of the transaction with Hemera Biosciences, a privately-owned biotechnology company, are not being disclosed," J&J adds.

Nordex SE - German wind turbines manufacturer - Receives IEC type certificate for its N149/5.X wind turbine. Late Tuesday, Nordex said it raised EUR200 million through issue of 10.7 million shares.

Orange SA - Paris-based telecommunications firm - Orange Marine subsidiary to build cable ship that will "be even more efficient and with a reduced environmental footprint", Orange explains. Ship will replace C/S Raymond Croze. "Everything has been carefully designed to reduce her environmental footprint, which will lead to a reduction of 20% in CO2 emissions and an 80% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions compared to the Raymond Croze," Orange adds.

Siemens AG - German conglomerate - Achieves declared intermediate target for carbon reduction. Cuts CO2 emissions by 54% since 2014, exceeding its goal by four percentage points.

Iberdrola SA - Spanish utility - "Ramps up" venture strategy by setting aside EUR40 million to invest in "innovative industrial companies" amid decarbonisation drive. "It will work to create new businesses supporting electrification - recycling of blades, modules and batteries - and technologies related to industrial heat, battery manufacturing and the decarbonisation of long-haul transport," Iberdrola says.

Verisk Analytics Inc - New Jersey-based data analytics provider - Teams with cybersecurity services company BlueVoyant. Verisk will offer users of its Verisk Cyber Solutions Suite with insights generated by BlueVoyant's cybersecurity monitoring technology.

Mondelez International Inc - Deerfield, Illinois-headquartered confectionary firm - Announces redemption price of outstanding 3.625% Notes due 2023. Redemption price per USD1,000 principal amount of redeemed notes is USD1,076.75. "In addition to the redemption price, the redeeming holders of the notes will receive USD2.71875 in accrued interest per USD1,000 principal amount of the redeemed notes. Therefore, the total redemption price plus accrued interest will be USD1,079.47 per USD1,000 principal amount of the redeemed notes," company adds.

Airbus SE - French aerospace and defence firm - Ministry of Defence of Mali places order for additional C295 airlifter. "This second aircraft, to be delivered in 2021, will supplement the first C295 already in operation since December 2016 which has already accumulated 1,770 flight hours and transported more than 38,000 passengers and 900 tonnes of cargo in less than four years of operations," Airbus says.

Rheinmetall AG - German defence contractor - MK82-EP aircraft bomb secures "major successes in France and Germany". France's procurement arm, Direction Generale de l'Armement, placed first serial production orders for MK82-EP. "Furthermore, the German Air Force has selected the Rheinmetall MK82-EP to serve as the warhead of the GBU-54 Laser Joint Direct Attack Munition system, destined for its Tornado and Eurofighter platforms. Together, the orders encompass more than 2,000 MK82-bomb bodies, worth over EUR35 million in total," Rheinmetall says.
