Fri, 15th Nov 2019 10:55

(Alliance News) - Frontier Development PLC said on Friday it is "comfortable" with analyst projections following the strong launch of its Planet Zoo video game.

"The board continue to be comfortable with the current range of analyst revenue projections of GBP65 million to GBP73 million for the current financial year 2020," the Cambridge-based video games maker said.

The company launched Planet Zoo, a management simulation game in which players build and manage their own zoo, at the beginning of November, and the game achieved global number one and number two bestseller spots on the Steam video game distribution platform.

Frontier Developments said that Planet Coaster, a roller coaster park simulation game, will come to consoles in Summer 2020.

The company also added that "two major new releases" from internal development teams are currently planned for financial year 2022.

Chief Executive David Braben, said: "We continue to target very significant new opportunities. I am particularly excited that we will be building on the success of Elite Dangerous with a major new release in financial year 2021 and will follow this with two major releases in financial year 2022, one of which will be our next game based on a major global IP licence."

Frontier Developments shares were up 1.3% in London at 1,242.00 pence each on Friday.
