Friday preview: Kcom Group reports, US jobs data released

Broadband and communications provider Kcom Group will unveil its annual results on Friday.Earlier this year, the company reported a positive momentum across all its brands as it secured a number of contract renewals in the face of challenging market conditions. At the time, Bill Halbert, Executive Chairman, said the group was committed to a "minimum 10% growth in the dividend in this financial year". "Market conditions continue to be challenging," he said. "The group has, however, continued to exploit successfully the opportunities that are there, with positive momentum across all brands."The first half was rocky for the company as it posted a 4.7% fall in revenue to £188.7m. Net debt increased from £75.3m on March 31st 2012 to £94.3m by the end of September. In its latest trading update, the firm said it was performing in line with market forecasts.On the economic data front, the US releases a monthly jobs report which is expected to show a limited improvement in the pace of hiring as federal budget cuts took hold and the economy began to cool. Economists estimate that 167,000 jobs were added in May.It will follow the Labor Department's report on jobless claims today which fell less than expected last week by 11,000 to 346,000 from a revised 357,000. It missed the median forecast by a Bloomberg poll of analysts for a decline to 345,000.
