Forbidden Technologies Signs Deal For South Africa Employment Project

Fri, 11th Mar 2016 08:29

LONDON (Alliance News) - Forbidden Technologies PLC said Friday it has signed a deal to supply a South African local authority with its cloud video platform Forscene to train unemployed youth, learners and teachers.

The cloud based video-editing software company said the contract is with an unnamed existing client, and under the deal it will be working on an employment project with a South African local authority to train people "in order to address the demand for video editing staff from the public broadcast sector".

It said the initial paid pilot phase of the project will be with 150 students. If the pilot is successful, 150 new students will be added every quarter, with Forbidden Technologies moving to an annual licensing deal in the later part of 2016.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

"This deal has been in the pipeline for some time and we are delighted to have begun the proof of concept. Whilst there's no guarantee that the full scope will be signed off we are extremely confident that the benefits Forscene can deliver in this project are significant," said Jason Cowen, business development director at Forbidden Technologies.

Shares in Forbidden Technologies were untraded on Friday, having last traded at 8.62 pence.
