LONDON (Alliance News) - Fitbug Holdings PLC said Wednesday that it had scored former Bloomberg LP London head Malcolm Fried to succeed its departing Chief Executive David Turner with immediate effect.

The wearable technology company also announced that it had signed an agreement with Griffin International Companies Inc to act as its exclusive US sales representative to retail chains Target Corp, Best Buy Co Inc and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Fried worked with Bloomberg for 13 years, where he headed the London business unit that covered digital and broadcast in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Previously he was a director of Primedia Broadcasting, the South African subsidiary of Primedia Inc.

Turner will remain with the company as a non-executive Director, and current Chairman Fergus Kee's role will return to a non-executive one.

Shares in Fitbug were trading up 8.8% at 0.680 pence Wednesday morning.
