DUBLIN, May 27 (Reuters) - European Central Bank Governing Council member Gabriel Makhlouf on Wednesday said he had not yet seen any evidence of second-round inflationary effects from higher energy prices caused by the Iran war, but that did not mean they did not exist.
"We're seeing indirect effects ... I haven't seen the second-round effects emerging but that's not to say that they don't exist and (that) I'll be presented with those when we have our next meeting," Makhlouf told a news conference on Wednesday.
Asked whether the governing council was likely to increase interest rates at the meeting in early June, he said their decision would depend on new economic projections, his own analysis of economic data and the input of colleagues. (Reporting by Conor Humphries; Editing by Padraic Halpin)
