DL Invest calls abrdn European Logistics "unique vehicle" before vote

Fri, 13th Feb 2026 12:41

(Alliance News) - The majority shareholder of abrdn European Logistics Income PLC on Friday said it remained opened to dialogue with the firm, as it looks to halt a wind-down.

DL Invest Group ISR SARL is a Katowice, Poland-based property developer, which holds about 18% of ASLI.

ASLI is a London-based investor in logistics real estate, managed by Aberdeen Group PLC. Back in July 2024, its shareholders voted "overwhelmingly" for a managed wind-down after "extensive consultation", ASLI said.

However, its largest shareholder DL Invest has argued that the decision to wind down was made in different market conditions, and has cautioned against further action of an "irreversible nature".

DL Invest in January requisitioned a general meeting of ASLI investors to vote on proposals to change the firm's investment policy and replace the existing investment manager with DL Invest. The meeting is scheduled next Friday.

"DL Invest remains open to constructive dialogue with the board, shareholders, and other stakeholders ahead of the meeting," DL Invest said on Friday.

It also stressed the strategic potential of European and Polish logistics, calling ASLI "a unique vehicle through which investors can access this structural growth corridor".

DL Invest on Tuesday recommended ASLI shareholders vote to stop the planned wind-down. It said ASLI's announcement convening the meeting presented what the ASLI board saw as "the key risks of terminating the wind-down" but that "these risks were not clearly defined...nor were they supported by evidence, and the company avoided reminding shareholders of the real inherent risks involved with continuing the wind-down strategy."

"If our proposals are endorsed by shareholders, we will seek to work closely with the board and the company's legal advisers to design a buy-out mechanism to be implemented by the company," DL Invest noted on Tuesday.

ASLI shares fell 0.7% to 27.05 pence around noon on Friday in London.
