Digital Barriers Says Half-Year Revenues Boosted By Increased Exports

Mon, 07th Oct 2013 08:21

LONDON (Alliance News) - Digital Barriers PLC Monday said that it expects revenues of GBP9.0 million for the half year ended September 30, up from GBP8.9 million in the previous year.

The company said that a strong performance from its Products division would contribute to its performance, as lower-than-expected revenues in the UK were offset by increased revenues from exports.

The surveillance technology and security company said that it remains comfortable about its expectations for its financial year results. It will announce its interim results on November 28.

Customer interest had increased for its ground-sensor service, Digital Barriers said, and its TVI range of video surveillance technologies were sold into eighteen countries during the period. The company's ThruVision Passive People Screening technology had made positive progress, it said, but remained at an early stage.

"We have limited control over the timing of overseas government procurement processes, and as a result it is difficult to influence the timing of sales closures," said Chairman Tom Black in a statement. "Despite the inevitable impact that this has on sales timings and working capital requirements, we now have demonstrably increasing overseas sales momentum with exactly those flagship customers we have sought to secure since establishing the group."

Digital Barriers shares were trading up 1.6% at 155.00 pence Monday.
