Conroy Gold reports high-grade hits at Clontibret drill site

(Alliance News) - Conroy Gold & Natural Resources PLC on Monday reported further drill results from its Clontibret gold deposit in Ireland, including high-grade gold intersections and the identification of a significant alteration zone.

The company said two drill holes from its current programme, CGC-25-002 and CGC-25-003, intersected an intensely altered zone interpreted to represent Buddingtonite alteration, which may indicate proximity to a concealed hydrothermal gold system at depth.

Conroy Gold said drill hole CGC-25-002 intersected 17 separate gold-bearing zones, including 1.0 metre at 16.7 grammes per tonne of gold from 37.1 metres depth and 3.5 metres at 4.8 grammes per tonne from 123.5 metres, including 0.5 metres at 11.2 grammes per tonne.

The hole also intersected 2.1 metres at 4.2 grammes per tonne from 220.1 metres, including 0.7 metres at 9.6 grammes per tonne.

A second hole, CGC-25-003, drilled around 50 metres north of the first hole, intersected six further gold-bearing zones and confirmed the lateral continuity of mineralisation along strike.

Chair John Sherman said the results continued to demonstrate the "significant gold endowment" at Clontibret while highlighting the wider geological potential of the system.

He added that the identification of a substantial Buddingtonite-bearing alteration zone was "particularly encouraging" because it can be associated with major hydrothermal gold systems worldwide.

Shares in Conroy Gold & Natural Resources were up 0.5% at 10.30 pence in London on Monday afternoon.
