Cambridge Cognition to unveil new software prototype

Mon, 04th Apr 2016 14:07
(ShareCast News) - Cambridge Cognition was preparing to show off its latest wares on Monday, announcing it was to present the first prototype of a ground-breaking new software application to improve the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of mental health, in conjunction with Ctrl Group. The AIM-traded neuroscience technology company said that, having reached prototype stage earlier than anticipated, the two firms were now set to form a joint venture called Cognition Kit to accelerate the development of cognitive testing applications for wearable and smart devices, for use in pharmaceutical research programmes as well as general healthcare. It said the platform created by the venture would enable doctors, scientists and the public to better understand and manage day-to-day brain health, in turn empowering people to detect changes in cognitive well being and take action quicker."Cognition Kit technology gathers rich physical and neurological health data during everyday life. Over time, the software learns how each individual's mood and cognitive performance varies moment-to-moment and the factors that contribute to their wellness, such as sleep, stress and physical activity," the company's board said in a statement."This will create a more natural and accurate profile of a person's mental health helping people track their well being, intervene if their health declines and lead fuller, more active lives."The presentation was to take place at the Neurotech Investing and Partnering Conference in Boston, Massachusetts on 7 April.
