Cairn Energy says Mexico well abandoned

Tue, 05th May 2020 07:39

(Sharecast News) - Cairn Energy said an offshore exploration well in Mexico operated by Eni had been abandoned after failing to find any hydrocarbons.
The company on Tuesday said the Ehecatl-1 exploration well, located in the Sureste Basin 65 kilometres off Mexico, in which Cairn has a 30% working interest, had been permanently plugged.

Logging, sampling and data collection during the well operations would be used to improve the understanding of the exploration block and inform the second well decision, Cairn said.
