Breedon acquires Durham-based concrete operator

Tue, 01st Jun 2021 09:24
(Sharecast News) - Construction materials group Breedon acquired Micromix on Tuesday, a "mini mix" concrete operator based out of Durham.
Breedon said Micromix, which trades as Express Minimix, operated a fleet of 25 mixer trucks, specialising in delivering small loads of ready-mixed concrete and screeds to commercial and domestic customers across the North of England and parts of Scotland.

The AIM-listed group added that Express Minimix complemented its existing mini mix businesses, which currently operate throughout the Midlands, East Anglia and parts of Southern England, and will extend its reach across the north of the UK.

Breedon's managing director of GB materials, Mike Pearce, said: "Express Minimix is a great bolt-on acquisition for Breedon, it further strengthens our position in a key market for us and extends our market-leading product and service offering for both new and existing customers."

As of 0920 BST, Breedon shares were up 0.46% at 108.50p. Breedon
