BP Whiting Indiana refinery shuts vacuum unit for work-sources

Mon, 07th Oct 2019 15:29

Oct 7 (Reuters) - British oil major BP shut a vacuum
distillation unit (VDU) on Sunday as part of a planned overhaul
on a gasoline-producing unit at its 430,000 barrel per day (bpd)
Whiting refinery in Indiana, sources familiar with plant
operations said on Monday.

The 60,000 bpd VDU produces gasoil that the 65,000 bpd
gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit converts to
gasoline, the sources said.
