Boku inks carrier billing agreement with China's Huawei

(Sharecast News) - Boku will provide Huawei with its carrier billing platform as a payment method for purchases from the Chinese phone manufacturer's AppGallery, Mobile Cloud and Themes stores.The agreement will see Boku provide Huawei's growing consumer base with the ability to purchase content and services in a seamless and convenient way on their handsets, allowing users to enjoy the content on their phones as soon as possible.Boku revealed the pair were initially targeting markets such as the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, France, Russia, Spain and Austria.Huawei, China's leading smartphone maker, became the world's second largest manufacturer in the second quarter of 2018 - with a global market share of 15.8%.Boku chief executive Jon Prideaux, said, "We are very pleased to be working with Huawei. Over the past few years, charging the cost of purchases for your phone bill or pre-paid balance has become the norm for app stores and we've played a leading role in this development."As of 0925 BST, Boku shares had jumped 4.57% to 170.45p.
