Barclays To Repurchase Up To EUR500 Million Of 2021 Notes

Thu, 25th Jun 2020 14:20

(Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed bank Barclays PLC said Thursday it will repurchase up to EUR500 million of EUR1.50 billion outstanding 1.875% notes due 2021 for cash.

Barclays has made the offer as part of its ongoing management of its liabilities, in particular as the notes being bought back have caused to qualify as eligible liabilities items under the Capital Requirements Directive regulation due to having a residual maturity of less than 12 months.

The offer deadline is set for July 1, the day after Barclays announces its results.

Shares in Barclays were down 0.1% at 111.70 pence on Thursday in London.
