Wed, 01st Jun 2016 07:40

LONDON (Alliance News) - Aureus Mining Inc on Wednesday said it has received approval from its creditors to defer its first debt repayment to the end of June.

The first repayment had been due at the end of May, having already been deferred from the end of April.

Aureus said mining operations at the New Liberty gold mine in Liberia continue, and the group is making progress towards a controlled start-up of the gold processing plant at the project.

A further announcement on the start of processing operations at New Liberty is due to be made in coming days, it added.

Aureus shares were up 1.4% to 3.17 pence Wednesday.
