LONDON (Alliance News) - Atlantis Resources Ltd said Tuesday its MeyGen project in northern Scotland is now connected to the 33 kilovolt Ness of Quoys distribution network.
This follows the successful installation of one of the longest underground 33 kilovolt power export cables in the UK by the network operator, Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution PLC, Atlantis said, and is a "major technical milestone" for the project.
The first tidal turbines will be installed at the project over the coming months, and it remains on track to deliver first power in the second half of 2016.
Shares in Atlantis Resources were up 2.3% at 51.40 pence Tuesday morning.
