(Alliance News) - Atalaya Mining PLC said Thursday the Spanish local government Junta de Andalucia has issued a favourable report in relation to the unified environmental authorization of the Proyecto Riotinto copper project in Spain.
The authorisation is now on a legal consultation period exclusively with parties involved in the process.
Once the consultation is completed, the junta is expected to issue the authorisation, which will resolve all administrative issues identified in the ruling of the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucia in September 2018.
The validation of the environmental authorization is a required step towards the re-validation of the mining permit for Proyecto Riotinto.
Shares in Atalaya Mining closed 1.1% higher at 192.00 pence on Thursday in London.
