Tue, 17th Nov 2015 09:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Electricity generation company APR Energy PLC on Tuesday said it has extended its 102 megawatt project in Myanmar through to the end of 2016.

The financial terms on the new agreement are in line with the original deal, which had been signed in February 2014, APR said.

"As the first US power company to do business in Myanmar in recent years, we have been fortunate to have exceptional business partners in Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise and the national government. They have been fully committed to the success of this project and the role it is playing to enhance the quality of life for people in Myanmar," said Chief Executive Laurence Anderson.

APR shares were up 0.7% to 171.75 pence on Tuesday.
