Shares in DDD rose sharply after the 3D software provider announced acollaboration with US tech group Advanced Micro Device (AMD) to supply 3D technology to PC equipment manufacturers.Through the partnership, AMD will supply DDD's TriDef software to power its Radeon HD 6000 family graphic processors. DDD will also offer discounted software downloads to customers that purchase the Radeon products.DDD says demand for its 3D equipment has increased 'significantly' since Acer introduced the first mass-market stereoscopic 3D notebook PC, featuring DDD and AMD technology, last year. DDD's technology is used to convert images designed to be seen in 2D into 3D.Chris Yewdall, chief executive of DDD said: "We are delighted to have been selected by AMD as a best-in-class 3D game software solution for its 3D ecosystem, which will help to accelerate the adoption of high-quality 3D solutions by original equipment manufacturers and end users."
