Alexander Mining Subsidiary Granted Zinc Extraction Patents

LONDON (Alliance News) - Alexander Mining PLC on Thursday said its MetaLeach Ltd subsidiary has been granted patents in Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe for a zinc extraction method.

The patents have been granted for the company's Method for Extracting Zinc from Aqueous Ammoniacal Solutions, it said.

"The grant of our patent in several countries of interest in Africa is another welcome expansion of the granted patent coverage for our proprietary processing technology for zinc," said Martin Rosser, Alexander's chief executive.

Shares in Alexander were up 4.2% to 0.6511 pence on Thursday.
