Airbus CEO says FCAS project working well outside the core fighter

Wed, 20th May 2026 08:51

May 20 (Reuters) - The head of European aerospace group Airbus said he ‌remained optimistic about the framework for connected systems being developed for the FCAS fighter project despite ‌differences with France's Dassault Aviation over the core warplane.

CEO Guillaume Faury ‌said France, Germany and Spain ‌were now reassessing the future of the troubled project and noted it ‌had been conceived under tighter budget constraints before the Ukraine war, ‌when parties were more willing to ‌compromise on specifications.
