Recycling firm ZincOx announced record monthly earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) at its wholly-owned Korean Recycling Plant.May EBITDA climbed from $0.77m to $1.01m month-on-month, driven by an increase in zinc recovery from 90% to 91%, and concentrated produced zinc from 3,006 tonnes to 3,618 tonnes.Throughput of electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) moved closer to its target of 17,600 tonnes with an increase of 1,135 tonnes to 15,668."Generating $1m of EBITDA in a month is an important milestone for the company," said chief executive Andrew Woollett."The continuing optimisation of the operation in Korea is leading to greater profitability and further fine tuning of the plant should increase recovery over the next few months."The group said that it is addressing a lack of EAFD, which is curtailing EAFD treatment by entering into new contracts that should become effective in July 2015.
