Shares in university intellectual property commercialisation group Frontier IP flew higher on Wednesday after new directors dipped in to buy shares.New James Fish, Finance Director, bought £28,000 worth of shares at 28p per share, while Non-Executive Director Michael Bourne pocketed £49,000 of shares. The company on Monday published evidence of a swing into breakeven in the first half of the year to December 31st reflecting investment revaluations.The share price of the company, which had risen 2.5p to 29.25p on release of results on Monday, rose a further 7p or 24.6% to 35.5p on Wednesday. Elsewhere, the Chief Executive and one Non-Executive Director of Redcentric group netted sizeable windfalls from selling shares in the company the day after issuing a robust trading statement. MXC Capital, a consultancy company owned by Chief Executive Tony Weaver and Non-Executive Director Ian Smith sold 3.9m shares at a price of 110p, netting £4.29m, while Smith trousered a further £0.66m from selling shares held by his pension fund at the same price. The company said that it was the first time MXC Capital has sold shares since supporting the turnaround of Redstone in August 2010, before the Managed Services businesses were demerged and floated on AIM as Redcentric. MXC Capital still owns 5.9m shares and has assured it will not sell any more shares for a period of 12 months.
