Walker Greenbank's Scion Inks Licensing Pact With Retailer Next

(Alliance News) - Walker Greenbank PLC on Thursday said its brand Scion has entered into a homeware licensing collaboration with retailer Next PLC.

Scion is a brand in the interior furnishing's group portfolio. Its products feature Scandinavian-inspired designs and animal characters.

Walker Greenback said that under the deal, Next will create and sell a range of of homeware, nursery and fashion items such as nightwear, rugs, wall art and fashion accessories. The Denham-based company added that the range will be launched online and in-store in July.

The collaboration is structured partly as a licensing deal and also as a wholesale supply agreement, it said.

"We are delighted to be working with Next and to be collaborating on our shared vision for the homewares market. Scion marks the first Walker Greenbank brand to jointly develop bespoke design solutions to appeal to NEXT consumers and we look forward to the commercial launch of the range in July this year," said Walker Greenback Chief Executive Lisa Montague.

Walker Greenbank shares were trading 3.7% higher at 69.50 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London.
