Vodafone announced Monday it would be launching a carrier services business after its takeover and integration of Cable & Wireless Worldwide.The new unit, Vodafone Carrier Services, will be launched at the International Telecoms Week in Chicago from May 13th to 15th. The business was created following the acquisition of Cable & Wireless last year It will combine the carrier services of Vodafone's operating companies and Cable & Wireless into one integrated global group.Vodafone Carrier Services will offer carrier pre-selection (CSP) with adaptable voice and data services."The industry needs to work together to solve the commercial, operational and technical challenges of delivering end-to-end telecoms services," Chief Executive Officer, Brian Fitzpatrick, said. "Vodafone Carrier Services aims to promote collaboration in the global telecoms industry - bringing together carriers and service providers from the fixed and mobile worlds to deliver new services and drive innovation." Shares fell 0.15% to 194.05p at 08:19 Monday.RD
