Vodafone and Rogers Communications, a Canadian communications and media company, have formed a new partnership. Under the non-equity agreement, Rogers will become Vodafone's exclusive partner in Canada, together seeking out new business opportunities and delivering a range of products and services, including 4G roaming services. The companies said the benefits of the tie-up include the addition of Canada to Vodafone Global Enterprise's international managed services and that Rogers will be able to draw on Vodafone's experience in building and developing 4G mobile broadband networks. Vodafone Chief Executive Vittorio Colao said Canada was "an important market" as its it continues to expand its roaming capabilities across North America."The partner market agreement extends Vodafone's international experience, innovation and scale to the Canadian market to generate revenue opportunities, cost savings and value for both companies and their customers," the FTSE 100-listed group added. Rogers joins Vodafone's partner market group of more than 30 telecommunications companies operating in nearly 50 countries. Vodafone's share price dropped 1.12% to 206.60p by 13:57. NR
