The Greek arm of mobile phone giant Vodafone is taking control of Greek phone and broadband supplier Hellas Online for €72.7m.Vodafone Greece has bought a controlling stake in Hellas from the Intracom Group and World Equities Investments Holdings.It has increased its 18.4% stake in Hellas, which it bought in 2009, to 91.2%, at which point it would have to offer to buy the rest of the shares.The deal is expected to complete in the final three months of 2014.Vodafone said the move would speed up its unified communications strategy in Greece and create the country's number two telecoms and online operator.The company also said it expects the deal to save £24m a year.JF
