Strategists highlighted option order flow in several stocks on Monday, in alight trading day in both the stock and options market. Apple Inc's annual developers' conference in San Francisco did not deliver much excitement,and implied volatility in Apple ended lower on Monday across maturities, saidEnis Taner, global macro editor at RiskReversal.com in a note. The call-to-putratio on the stock was around 1.9, near the highs of the past month. The weekly$450, $460, $455 and $445 calls all traded more than 20,000 contracts, he said.
Shares of Bank of America Corp have been hemmed in between $13 and$14 for the past month. The $14 call line was the most active on Monday, as theJune and July $14 calls both traded around 18,000 contracts, Taner said.
In Facebook Inc, the call-to-put ratio was up to 2.5, as someoptimism returned after the stock's upgrade, though $25 still looms as majorresistance. Taner said the July $27 calls were the most popular line on Monday,trading around 17,000 contracts.
Shares of Staples, which notched new year highs, closed on Mondayat $15.51. In early action, an investor bought 10,000 Sept $15 strike puts for15 cents per contract, and later, another 5,000 traded for 85 cents, said JoeCusick, senior market analyst at optionsXpress in a note. Total volume at thatstrike was 15,084 lots against 441 in open interest. Another 1,500 Sept $14 putsalso traded. Cusick said the flow wasn't entirely bearish, as the big block ofSept $15 puts was also tied to 400,000 Staples shares. "The opening of downsideputs on the stock seems to reflect expectations for increasing volatility inStaples in the months ahead," Cusick added.
Vodafone Group Plc attracted heavy call buying in July andOctober expirations on Monday, the most active day in the past month, with over40,000 calls trading, Taner said. The July and Oct $30 strike calls both tradedmore than 10,000 contracts each.

A total of 11.9 million contracts changed hands in the U.S.-listed optionsmarket on Monday, resulting in net open interest growth of 1.67 million callsand 2.08 million puts, according to Trade Alert.
Pfizer Inc, Bank of America Corp, Apple Inc andMicron Technology Inc attracted the greatest increase in option openpositions, data from Trade Alert showed.
The top five new positions opened include 66,000 Pfizer July $35 strikecalls, 65,000 Pfizer July $35 strike puts, 39,000 Procter and Gamble Co January 2015 $65 strike calls, 16,000 Du Pont De Nemours and Co October$57.50 strike calls and 15,000 Du Pont Oct $50 strike puts, Trade Alert said.
