* Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange are 0.35percent up and the MSCI-Asia Pacific index excluding Japan is 0.1 percent higher.
* Asian stocks rose on Wednesday following a positive leadfrom Wall Street with Japan's Nikkei reaching a 5-1/2 year high,while the yen took a defensive stance ahead of the outcome ofthe Bank of Japan's policy meeting.
* U.S. stocks rose on Tuesday, with the Dow and the S&P 500closing at new all-time highs as Federal Reserve officials'comments eased some concerns that the central bank could startreducing its stimulus program.
