Tertiary Minerals PLC - Mineral exploration and development company - Gives update on signing of term sheet to allow a third party to earn into the Konkola West project in Zambia. Says the third party has now finished due diligence investigations, and the relevant parties are now reviewing draft agreements, with a view to finalising as soon as possible. Adds that all parties have re-affirmed their commitment to completing the transaction.

Executive Chair Patrick Cheetham says: "I am pleased to be able to provide the market with this reassurance and we look forward to updating the market further in due course with details of the agreement and the third party's exciting plans for drilling at Konkola West."

Current stock price: 0.12 pence, up 14% in London on Thursday at noon

12-month change: down 33%

(Alliance News) - Tertiary Minerals PLC shares jumped on Thursday, after it said it has raised GBP250,000 to continue evaluating its copper exploration projects portfolio.

Tertiary Minerals PLC - US and Zambia-focused mineral exploration and development company with a focus on energy transition metals - Reports the its Mukai copper-nickel project in Zambia has reserves and resources of over 2.7 billion tonnes averaging 0.55% copper and has an annual production of 555,000 tonnes of refined copper. Says that data from First Quantum Minerals suggests exploration potential for both copper and nickel at Mukai. Says its 2023 exploration programme will commence at the project with a property-wide soil sampling programme and field follow-up of anomalous areas, as well as more detailed work adjoining the Tirosa Prospect. Adds it is awaiting approval of its Environmental Project Brief from the Zambian Environment Management Authority and the issue of a Forest Permit to allow exploration to commence.

Tertiary Minerals PLC - mineral explorer and developer focused on energy transition metals - Begins work evaluating First Quantum Minerals' datasets for two of its projects. Says that a "number of exciting exploration targets" are emerging. "We hope to reveal more about this in the near future and in the meantime we are busy planning field programmes to start within the next couple of months as soon as the wet season ends," the company says. Says its focus is "firmly fixed" on copper exploration in Zambia and the US state of Nevada. Suggests copper is "most likely to survive the evolution of battery technologies which may be at the expense of some of the more novel commodities."
