Tissue Regenix Appoints COO Gareth Jones As Interim Chief Executive

Thu, 01st Aug 2019 15:16

(Alliance News) - Tissue Regenix Group PLC said Thursday it has appointed Chief Operating Officer Gareth Jones as interim chief executive with immediate effect.

He will be replacing Steve Couldwell, who is stepping down from the medical devices firm due to a recurrence of his illness.

Couldwell had returned to full duties in June, after having taken a leave of absence in January due to ill health and to undergo medical treatment.

Jones has been part of Tissue Regenix since October last year, having joined from Applied Graphene Materials PLC, where he was chief financial officer for a year from 2017 to 2018.

Non-Executive Chair John Samuel will resume the position of executive chair until a permanent CEO is appointed.

"It has been my great privilege and honour to lead Tissue Regenix for two years in the position of CEO. I truly believe in the strength of our technologies, our product portfolio and market strategy. The company is at such an exciting point of commercial and operational inflection, and I remain committed to being available as an adviser and mentor wherever possible," said Couldwell.

Tissue Regenix shares were up 2.4% on Thursday in London at 3.84 pence.
