SCISYS released a statement on Tuesday announcing a new contract with Airbus Defence and Space, at an estimated value of €2m.SCISYS is a supplier of bespoke software systems, IT based solutions and support services to the media broadcast, space, government and defence and environment sectors.Following the contract, Airbus and SCISYS will collaborate with one another to deliver software for the rover vehicle during the European Space Agency’s (ESA’s) mission to Mars.As part of the mission in 2018, the ESA will launch, land and operate a robotic rover to explore the planet. The mission will also pave the way for a future sample return mission in 2020.The contract value will be recognised in SCISYS's current and forthcoming accounting periods up to early 2017.Following the announcement, the firm's share price increased 3.30% as of 15:04.
