Sierra Rutlile Weighing Impact Of Ebola Lockdown In Sierra Leone

Mon, 08th Sep 2014 08:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sierra Rutile Ltd Monday said it is assessing the extent of the impact on its operations from the government of Sierra Leone's four-day lockdown to contain the Ebola virus outbreak.

In a statement, Sierra Rutile, which produces titanium feedstock industrial minerals, as well as smaller quantities of zircon, said it will outline contingency plans that will be implemented to mitigate, as best as possible, disruptions to its operations one the government gives full details of the restrictions.

Sierra Rutile said there have been no reported or suspected cases of Ebola at its operations. It added that it continues to have in place precautionary measures to minimise the risks posed to its employees, contractors and visitors.

The company said it fully supports the lockdown as part of the government's response to the Ebola outbreak.

Sierra Rutile shares were Monday quoted down 5.7% at 34.9 pence.
