Mon, 25th Nov 2013 16:14

Rurelec, which owns, operates and develops power generation capacity internationally, announced on Monday that at the end of last week Larry Coben, an independent Non-Executive Director, purchased 400,000 ordinary shares in the group at 13.25p each. The £53,000 purchase takes Coben's stake in the group to 900,000 shares. The deal was carried out the same day the company announced the sale of two of its high efficiency Jenbacher 616 gas engines of two megawhatt capacity each for a total purchase price of £1.2m. The sale forms part of the company's plan to focus on its portfolio of large power plant developments in Chile and Peru. Also worth noting is a further purchase by Lars Forberg, who is one of Alent's Non-Executive Directors and also a co-founder of major stake holder Cevian Capital. Forberg, who made multiple share purchases in the chemical company last week, has acquired a further 1.05m shares at 324p a piece for a total of £3.49m shares. Swedish-born Förberg, who joined Alent's board in October 2012, now has an interest in 61.1m shares in the company, equal to a 21.94% stake, all of which is held by international investment firm Cevian Capital.Top Director BuysAlent (ALNT) Director name: Mr Lars FörbergAmount purchased: 1,048,154 @ 324.00p Value: £3,396,019General Electric Co (GEC) Director name: Mr W.
