Vanni Treves, chairman of the FTSE 100-listed testing company Intertek, has offloaded a big chunk of shares, netting nearly £200,000.He sold 10,000 shares at 1,980p a time and still has 20,000.The shares have been hit by the general market decline since April, when Treves sold 24,048 shares at 2,076p a time.Intertek tests the safety of a wide assortment of products including toys, lighters, shoes, furniture and cosmetics.It posted a rise in profits in the first half of 2011 and predicted further growth."Whilst we are mindful of the uncertain economic conditions, we expect to grow revenue at high single digits on an organic constant currency basis for the full year with a margin close to that of the prior year," chief executive Wolfhart Hauser said. Treves became chairman of Intertek in 2002. . He is a corporate lawyer and was a partner of the solicitors Macfarlanes for 30 years. He has previously been chairman of Channel Four Television and London Business School.
