LONDON (Alliance News) - Surface Transforms PLC on Thursday said it has secured the TS16949 quality certification, sending its shares higher in early trade.
The certification is the quality management standard for the automotive industry and a pre-requisite for supplying the mainstream automotive market.
The company, which manufacturers carbon fibre reinforced ceramic materials, said it has also made progress in talks with British and German manufacturers and said it is working on other automotive programmes.
"We are delighted with achieving TS 16949 certification which further strengthens the company's business processes. We are also excited and pleased with the customer feedback and progress being made in the automotive game changing opportunities," said Chief Executive Kevin Johnson.
Surface Transforms shares were up 16% on the news to 15.5 pence in opening trade, one of the best performers in the AIM All-Share.
